This wonderful therapy comes down from the ancient Indian tradition of women massaging each others heads to improve the condition of their hair. For over 1000 years these women used a variety of oils and massage to keep their hair healthy and delay the on set of greying. The massaging began with new born babies, carrying on as the child grew but if they were male would stop as they reached adulthood. To compensate Indian barbers began to incorporate massage into their routines. However where as they only concentrated on the head, an Indian gentleman called Narendra Meheta, extended the practise to cover the neck, shoulders and upper arms. He was massaged as a baby by his mother and grandmother, as is the tradition, but when he came to England he discovered that massage was not used . He missed it so much that he returned to India to discover how to do it. He had found that it helped relieve the stress and tension of his modern day living. On returning to England he started working with patients, extending the massage to give maximum benefit. He noted what gave the best effects and gradually devised the modern Indian Head Massage. And now by a series of pushes and pulls, friction rubs and heel pulls over a number of sessions, you can benefit from his studies such that you will. Sleep better Have more energy Be headache free Think more clearly And feel good all over |
